We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of consumer and foodservice products, and dairy ingredients. Based on the stunning West Coast in Hokitika and reporting to the Group Procurement Manager - Capex & Engineering, we are looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our diverse and dedicated Procurement team. This role will lead and support the business in effective procurement practices through driving appropriate processes and outputs, increasing transparency and visibility and enabling Westland Milk Products to plan and budget effectively. Your key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop procurement strategy in assigned portfolio categories.
- Identify and adopt best procurement practices in conjunction with procurement policy.
- Support the definition and ongoing implementation of global sustainable procurement and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
- Work with key business stakeholders and internal customers on facilitating procurement requirements.
- End-to-end sourcing activities, establishing and documenting business requirements.
- The facilitation and completion of tender processes, documentation and contract negotiations to managing suppliers.
- Previous proven experience in a Procurement Specialist role ideally at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge of procurement/category management, marketing and sales principles, a strong procurement process background along with a good understanding of market and consumer insights and trends.
- CIPS qualification or the desire to achieve this would be advantageous.
- Procurement knowledge related to engineering, capital projects and site stores would be highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical and logical approach.
- Well-developed facilitation and negotiation skills.
- The ability to exercise good judgement and display sound decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
- A drive to support sustainable procurement and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
- Good time management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks/workloads.
