Job Description: Design and Estimation Specialist - Pencil Designs (US Operations) About Pencil Designs: Pencil Designs specializes in providing remodeling and interior design services to the U.S. market by leveraging a talented team of designers and architects from India. We aim to deliver innovative, cost-effective designs paired with accurate project estimations to meet and exceed client expectations. Position: Design and Estimation Specialist Location: United States (Remote with collaboration across time zones) Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities

1. Design Development:

• Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences, requirements, and project goals.
• Create initial design concepts, mood boards, and 2D/3D visualizations using tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar software.
• Work with the Indian design team to refine and finalize design deliverables.

1. Estimation and Budgeting:

• Prepare detailed cost estimations for remodeling projects, including labor, materials, and overheads.
• Ensure estimations align with client budgets while maintaining design quality and feasibility.
• Update estimations based on project scope changes or client feedback.

1. Client Interaction:

• Present design concepts and estimations to clients, explaining choices and justifying costs.
• Gather feedback and incorporate revisions into both design and budget.
• Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring their confidence in the project.

1. Vendor and Contractor Collaboration:

• Liaise with U.S.-based contractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing for materials and services.
• Maintain a database of local vendors to streamline estimation processes.

1. Project Coordination:

• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure designs are feasible and align with project timelines.
• Provide design clarifications and support during the implementation phase.

1. Process Improvement:

• Develop templates and standard operating procedures for design and estimation to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Stay updated on market trends, materials, and pricing to provide competitive estimates.

• Experience:
• 1+ years in interior design, architecture, or project estimation.
• Experience with remodeling projects is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in design tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation techniques and budgeting.
• Familiarity with construction materials, labor costs, and building codes in the U.S.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
