Public Health Division, Centre for Disease Control—Trachoma Program Alice Springs Two fixed vacancies are available to 30 / 06 / 2025 You’ll play a critical role in improving the identification, screening, treatment, and prevention of trachoma and trichiasis among Indigenous Australians, contributing to the elimination of trachoma as a public health issue. Responsibilities also include disease surveillance, participation in an on-call roster, and other public health nursing duties as needed. The role requires a current NT-recognised vaccination certificate (or ability to obtain), a manual NT driver’s license, and completion of a 4 WD training course (or willingness to complete). Travel by air and 4 WD to remote communities is an essential part of the job, including regular stays of up to a week in remote areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant regional hub surrounded by iconic desert landscapes.
