Set up by serial entrepreneur and poker enthusiast Jo Living. Our unique poker-themed workshops & high-end socials tease out skills around reading body language, risk and negotiation, whilst creating plenty of space for fun between colleagues. Aces High brings the full poker experience, reimagined for the Corporate environment (no gambling involved and catering to complete beginners). We specialise in high-end team socials, away-days and client events - using poker strategy to help teams and individuals develop their skills and bond with their colleagues. We are a small but ambitious startup, looking to offer 2025’s most sought after away day experience. We are seeking a senior team member interested in rolling their sleeves up and making things happen for us. We want someone ambitious about telling the story of a female entrepreneur/poker player launching an innovative new business. The Role
- Securing a number of targeted press features for Aces High in mainstream press, magazines, online and influencer/podcast pieces
- Advising on brand positioning, potential strategic partnerships and tone of voice (please note we are not looking for a long brand exploration/rebrand in Y1)
- Advising on tone of voice and social media profile (you won’t be asked to do social media but to provide some quality control and input on delivery)
- If we are successful and grow, we will also allocate a marketing spend to oversee but for now this is a role with no additional budget available.
- Is ‘ready to go’ as you will be the expert within the team on these subjects rather than reporting into someone more senior
- Will be a wise advisor to the CEO as we grow the business - helping by being her ‘go to’ on everything to do with brand, partnerships, tone and communications. You don’t need to ‘do’ everything to give your opinion and help us do it better
- Wants to deliver from day one - we want someone who will work to secure press coverage in their first month or two with us and improve our social media from day one rather than need to wait on strategic reviews, overseeing a new part-time Social Media Manager
- Is socially sensitive and understands our nervousness about not wanting to glamorise or promote gambling - our events are strictly gambling free and are about skills development
- Loves promoting female-led businesses and sees a number of angles for how to pitch us
- Has insight into/experience of either high end or luxury marketing or B2B businesses
