Engineer II - QA [T500-15170]

Key Responsibilities :

• Contribute to the delivery of complex solutions, breaking down big problems into smaller pieces
• Actively participate in team planning activities
• Help ensure the quality and integrity of the SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.
• Able to triage complex issues independently
• Aware of the technology landscape, help to plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications
• Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design
• Help new hires and junior engineers to improve their skills and be more effective
• Contribute to and improve internal libraries and tools
• Understand the business supported by your applications
• Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager
• Identify problems and risks of their own work and the work of others
• Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues
• Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued success

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent. Including:
• Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester
• Experience in QA methodology and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Experience with API testing tools. Postman is preferable
• Experience with Agile framework
• Experience with various testing techniques – system level testing, regression testing, smoke testing, mobile app testing and user acceptance testing
• Ability to adapt testing techniques and strategies based on the requirements
• Experience with test plan documentation, issue tracking
• Proficient with writing and executing SQL queries to retrieve data from Relational/NoSQL databases
• Highly accurate and detail oriented
• Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment
• Experience with QA Automation testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Groovy and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra
• Understanding of Junit or Spock testing frameworks
• Experience with Version control systems. GitHub is a plus
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
