Chief Medical Officer - Dublin - Life Science RecruitmentLife Science Recruitment Dublin5 days agoDescriptionWe are seeking a Chief Medical Officer to join our team in Dublin on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be a member of the Irish College of GPs or Royal College of Physicians Ireland and hold a Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Ireland in Occupational Medicine.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and implement a framework for monitoring the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care within the Department.Proactively manage employee fitness for work, particularly in safety-critical positions.Administer the provision of a welfare, well-being, and counselling service to employees.Set medical standards for fitness to work across all company positions, with a focus on safety-critical roles.Manage the administration of a Primary General Practitioner service for employees and their families.Interpret and report Drug and Alcohol Testing Programmes as a Medical Review Officer.Support our safety management systems.Advise management on compliance with statutory legislation regarding employee health and safety.Administer Health Promotion services to all employees through the Health Promotion Unit.Liaise with national and international organizations to ensure Occupational Health Unit standards align with best practices.Provide specialist advice on medical Ill Health Retirement of employees.Offer professional advice in statutory contexts.Collaborate with the Faculty of Occupational Medicine on training for Specialist Registrars.Promote medical standards for safety-critical work in public transport among the medical community.Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation by all employees according to Company Safety operating standards and external requirements.RequirementsPrimary qualification in Medicine from a recognized Medical School/University.Membership of the Irish College of GPs or Royal College of Physicians Ireland or equivalent.Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland or equivalent.Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Ireland in Occupational Medicine.Fellowship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland or equivalent.Experience and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.The estimated salary for this role is €120,000 - €150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
