The Sunway Centre for Planetary Health (SCPH) at Sunway University is seeking a dynamic and organized Research Analyst, who will contribute to high-quality research examining the intersection of climate change and public health, with a focus on identifying and addressing the impacts on vulnerable populations and promoting health equity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct research on the intersection of climate change and public health, focusing on both direct and indirect impacts.
  • Analyse the effects of climate change on various public health areas, such as air quality, waterborne diseases, vector-borne diseases, food security, and mental health.
  • Investigate disparities in vulnerability and resilience to climate change impacts, especially among marginalised communities and regions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of adaptation and mitigation strategies to reduce health risks associated with climate change.
  • Communicate research findings through academic publications and non-academic channels to influence public health practice and policy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the Centre’s research goals.
REQUIREMENTS/PERSON SPECIFICATION:
  • Graduates with Master’s Degree or PhD in Public Health or related fields.
  • Good Clinical Practice certification or similar certification is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and present research to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to speak in more than one local language is desirable.
  • Able to uphold the values, vision, mission, and objectives of the Centre.
