Job Title: Junior Data Analyst Job Location: IFSC Dublin 1 Department: Regulatory Reporting Reports to: Regulatory Reporting Manager Ava Trade is a Financial Institution based in Dublin City Center offices in IFSC, Dublin 1. We are currently seeking to recruit a Data Analyst to join our Regulatory Reporting department. The responsibilities of the Data Analyst will include collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to provide actionable insights for regulatory reporting. The role will involve identifying trends, patterns, and correlations in data, creating reports, and delivering key metrics to drive performance improvements of multiple client asset reconciliations and trading transaction reporting. The role will also include the determination and resolution of reporting discrepancies and participation in the implementation of forensic and enhanced governance and compliance procedures by deploying advanced IT and BI systems. This role will require 39 hours per week, 9-6pm from Monday to Friday. Responsibilities:
- Transaction Reporting:
- Data Collection & Preparation: Gather and clean data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Data Analysis: Perform statistical analysis, generate reports, and derive insights to inform business decisions.
- Report Generation: Create dashboards, visualizations, and regular reports summarizing key trends, performance metrics, and insights.
- Data Visualization: Use tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to create clear, impactful data visualizations.
- Predictive Analysis: Develop predictive models using historical data to forecast future trends and outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work with different departments (e.g., Dealing desk, IT, BI, operations, and Finance) to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, data automation, and optimization to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Client Asset / Capital Requirement Reconciliation:
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration and reconciliation of multiple Client Asset Reconciliations.
- Research and resolve any discrepancies.
- Liaise directly with the relevant team internally or externally to resolve any queries.
- Compile periodical reports and monitor reporting data quality.
- Assist in the implementation of enhanced administration and control procedures.
- Provide ongoing financial support services to the Management Team, including analyses and reports on activity.
- 1-2 years of experience in a busy reconciliations or data analysis environment, credit management, or investment firms.
- A strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and tools.
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, etc.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful patterns and trends.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and database querying.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing).
- Expertise in Excel for advanced data manipulation and modeling.
- Experience with programming languages for data analysis and automation.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to data accuracy and precision.
- Communication Skills: Ability to present complex data in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and offer actionable solutions.
- Experience in machine learning or AI applications for data analysis.
- Certification in data analytics or related fields, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
- 3rd level degree or above.
