Experience working in Operating Theatre (OT), Post Operative Care Unit and Anesthetic Unit (AU) Responsibilities: Counter check, dispense, discard and document CD drugs witnessed with another staff nurse. Count all CD drugs upon arrival and before leaving workplace. Check on Emergency trolley including equipment, medications and consumables. Upon patients' arrival in the operating theatre, perform pre-operative assessment. Ensure AU consumables and equipment are available prior to surgery. Prepare CD drugs, consumables and equipment according to anesthetist's request. Assist anesthetist pre, intra and post operatively. Perform a systematic and continuous assessment of patient's condition in the immediate post-anesthesia period. Ensure patients' safety including skin condition pre, intra and post operatively. Develop a satisfactory level of clinical competence in ART skills and knowledge. Assist in the management and support of sub-fertile couples before, during and after treatment cycles whilst developing a therapeutic environment to meet the individual needs of the couples. Ensure that informed consent is given, and the appropriate consent forms are completed for the treatment cycle, discussing the risks associated with ART and potential usage of gametes/embryos. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, providing information and counselling to enable couples to make informed choices regarding their treatment. Support patients and families in highly stressful situations (e.g. breaking bad news, anger management) both face to face and over the telephone. Ensure through the process of counselling that all couples are aware of the risk of iatrogenic diseases such as ovarian hyperstimulation, multiple pregnancy (with risk of prematurity and death), etc. Keep accurate records for each patient of all communication and clinical activity relevant to his/her treatment, in line with MOH regulations. Help with the production of written information to meet the changing expectations of the needs of the couples/patients. Assist with the collation of all data resulting from the procedures and transcribe such information into the patient notes to satisfy MOH regulations. In conjunction with senior nursing staff, be responsible for the patient's treatment and journey at MVFS as well as liaising with the attending clinicians for the care of the patients. Explain the individualized treatment including the potential side effects of the drugs given. Co-ordinate oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer/intrauterine insemination, donor insemination, providing appropriate counselling, support, and advice with cycle outcomes. Demonstrate skill at interpreting clinical information/data, anticipating potential problems, taking action to prevent/minimize these, responding to any changes promptly and effectively, and developing specialized plans of care as well as following the relevant protocols. Demonstrate dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail in the preparation of specialist equipment for procedures to be undertaken within MVFS whilst adhering to MVFS policies and guidelines. Be proficient in taking blood samples and provide guidance to junior colleagues to ensure that they are trained and supported to develop these skills. Promote the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility of all equipment used in the IVF guided egg retrieval, saline ultrasound, embryo transfer and intrauterine insemination procedures in line with MVFS policies and guidelines. Supervise and assist in the preparation and care of the patient and her partner before, during and after the above procedures. Demonstrate initiative and provide support in assisting with procedures. Requirements: Min Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Science (Nursing). Min 2 years of working experience. Experience working in IVF clinic will be an advantage.
