ABOUT THE COMPANY IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation ( https://iitmpravartak.org.in/) is a Technology Innovation Hub of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras focusing on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems (SNACS). We are hosted and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems . Since 2021 , we are engaged in Technology related incubation services, project management of Mission critical projects and projects of National importance for government and private agencies, Skill Development services, and administration of fellowships for graduate , post graduate , doctoral and post- doctoral research and administration of CSR Projects. Our core team consists of passionate and commitment driven individuals dedicated to the achievement of organizational goals towards building a resilient and ATMA NIRBAR BHARAT.ResponsibilitiesLeading end to end validation and verification effort, which includes test plan development, schedule management, design, debugs report generationDevelop and maintain comprehensive test strategies for the PostgreSQL database, aligning with overall project objectives and quality standards.Create detailed test plans, including test cases, test data, and resource allocationIdentify opportunities for test automation and implement automated test frameworks using appropriate toolsLead and coordinate test execution activities, including functional, non-functional, and performance testingTo drive methodical debugging, design validation and failure analysis techniquesManage, hire, and mentor a diverse team of experienced and junior Test EngineersQualifications10+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years of experience in database testing.Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, data types, and query optimization.Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.Experience with database testing tools and frameworks (pgtap, pgbench,etc)Knowledge of performance testing methodologies and tools.Experience with Agile development methodologies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Skills:Certification in PostgreSQL administration or development.Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.Experience with testing database internals (e.g., storage engines, query planning) would be an added advantage.Familiarity with open-source testing tools and communities.
