Progressive Emergency Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant with Emergency Medicine, Family Practice or Internal Medicine experience to join our Department of Emergency Medicine, operating Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at Good Samaritan University Hospital. The CDU is a collaborative environment for physicians to practice observation medicine. The unit manages >20 patients daily and is staffed by attending physicians, physician assistants, and residents. A metric-driven approach is utilized to deliver best practice patient care and outcomes.

Good Samaritan’s high-quality medical services extend across the continuum of care to all disciplines, both for inpatients and outpatients. The emergency department evaluates and treats patients presenting with all types of emergencies, 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. It is the only Verified Level II Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients on the south shore of Long Island. The emergency medicine clinical team works collaboratively with the in-hospital Trauma Team to provide immediate trauma care to all patients presenting with a traumatic injury. The emergency department also provides immediate access to a 24-7 cardiac percutaneous coronary intervention team and is a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The emergency department's staff includes physicians, nurses, and physician assistants who are trained and experienced in responding to emergent medical problems in patients of all ages.
