You'll enjoy the benefits of working within a well-established company while also experiencing the excitement, agility, and innovation typically found in a new venture.Optum is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team to lead the Finance organization of a growth business that will be a new service line within the Optum network. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management and business development within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.In this role, you will lead a team of experienced finance and financial reporting professionals for a broad range of strategic planning, budgeting, FP&A, and operational initiatives. You will help define our long-term business strategy and will play a key role in negotiating and executing supplier partnerships, product royalty agreements, co-development agreements and other novel investment models. You will establish and monitor financial performance analytics and KPIs; and you will work within the executive leadership team to recommend investment management decisions to help the company grow revenue and margin.Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.Primary Responsibilities:Serve as the senior leader developing and leading a global finance teamResponsible for all financial operations and financial reporting within Optum's Nuvaila businessLead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planningEngage with the accounting team on the preparation of all internal financial statements to support corporate financial reporting requirementsDrive near and long-term strategic vision and priorities of the organization and help lead business development activities including product licensing, co-development, and royalty arrangementsServe as a strategic partner to the organization, providing insights to support key decisions and drive long-term business plansIdentify opportunities for expansion into new product areasParticipate as a senior executive in supplier contract negotiations, and provide executive sponsorship in managing supplier relationshipsRequired Qualifications:Degree in finance, accounting, and/or related fieldExtensive professional experience in finance and/or accountingStrong interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organizationStrong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysesPreferred Qualifications:Pharmaceutical and/or life science industry experienceExperience in health care government programsExperience with supporting commercial teams to create, execute, optimize, and rethink profitable growth strategiesConfidence and assertiveness, with strong influencing skills across business functions and the ability to deliver difficult messages when necessaryAdaptability and flexibility, willingness to embrace change and work effectively in ambiguous situationsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
