Interim Head of Accounting

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Interim Head of Accounting to lead and oversee accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mid-cap Private Equity (PE) backed businesses and possess fluency in both German and English Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with local regulations and international standards (IFRS, GAAP)
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial operations with business strategy and growth objectives
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, private equity investors, and external stakeholders
• Manage the preparation of tax filings, audits, and compliance-related matters

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or similar) are highly desirable
• Proven experience as a Head of Accounting, Accounting Director, or similar leadership role in mid-cap Private Equity-backed businesses
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance within the context of PE-backed companies
• Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential
• Strong understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and other regulatory frameworks
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is preferred
