Department: Manufacturing Salary: £36,330 - £39,045 Job description This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week. Flexible or compressed working patterns available. Do you want to work somewhere a little bit different? Where you also play a part in national security engineering? Do you want to expand and develop your existing electrical safety testing skills? Maybe in an environment that you have never experienced or considered before? Working in our advanced manufacturing facility, you will use your existing skills and experience within a team of manufacturing engineers working on projects critical to protect national security. You will use your skills and knowledge in areas such as: evaluating bespoke products and documentation to the test standards; and writing and reviewing evaluation reports. No two days are the same. One day you could be completing an evaluation, the next you could be assessing material properties. You will have hands on involvement in evaluating products for use in a wide range of scenarios from low powered devices to high voltage systems. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team and the opportunities that provides to both develop and share your knowledge and skills. More About You To apply for this role, you will already have:
- A background in product safety testing.
- A clear understanding of safety engineering and assurance principles.
- Experience and knowledge in one or more electrical safety standards e.g. BS EN 62368, BS EN 61010, BS EN 60335.
- IT skills; particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience of safety critical function design/development of electrical products.
- An understanding of different certification schemes.
- Ability to fault find down to component level.
- Enjoys coming up with creative solutions.

- Complete electrical safety evaluations and reports.
- Evaluate products and documentation to ensure they meet the requirements of applicable test standards.
- Ensure evaluations are completed to standard and within set timescales.
- Utilise your knowledge of processes and standards to develop and build the capability.
- 25 days annual leave, rising to 30 after 5 years’ service.
