Entry-Level Microbiology Lab Technician

Additional Duties May Include:

• Provide support to laboratory department by performing and/or coordinating a variety of laboratory processes.
• Receive, register and prepare samples for general analytical testing through data entry, weighing, and physical homogenization.
• Prep and perform routine to more complex analyses per department methods.
• Read and record results of analyses, ensuring identification numbers match the correct samples.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, colorimeter, spectrophotometer, autoclave, evaporator, etc.
• Prepare and assure accuracy of standards, reagents, etc. needed for analyses.
• Acid wash glassware and clean other equipment and areas as required.
• Function as primary data generator, record and calculate data, sign assay sheets.
• Perform routine lab and department maintenance to keep area clean and orderly.
• Interpret customer requests and perform receiving and log-in functions.
• Conduct preliminary interpretations of data or observations, and draft short reports to supervisor.
• Carry out assignments in a timely, diligent, and safe manner, performing work in accordance with company SOPs.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a scientific field OR may be open to candidates with a high school diploma and industry laboratory experience. Examples of scientific degrees may include, but are not limited to: Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Food Science, etc.
