Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Supplier Optimization Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, and enhancing the overall quality of our hotel booking offerings. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of the travel and hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Utilise statistical methods and analytical techniques to analyse large datasets related to hotel bookings, pricing trends, customer behavior, and market dynamics.
- Develop models to forecast demand, pricing fluctuations, and consumer preferences for different hotel properties.
- Quantitative Content Optimization:
- Design and implement algorithms to optimise hotel content across multiple platforms (e.g., OTAs, meta-search engines) to maximise visibility and booking conversions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, content completeness, and accuracy for hotel listings.
- Arbitrage Strategy Development:
- Identify arbitrage opportunities in hotel pricing and availability across different booking platforms and geographical regions.
- Develop toolsets and strategies to capitalise on pricing differentials and market inefficiencies.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Build monitoring and reporting solutions to track the performance of hotel content optimisation and arbitrage strategies.
- Generate regular reports and insights for stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, trends, and actionable recommendations.
- Optimization Strategies:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize supplier performance and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with the pricing and revenue management teams to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.
- Work with data science and engineering teams to leverage technology for supplier optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Revenue Managers, Product Managers, Engineers, Commercial and Marketing teams to implement data-driven solutions that enhance the overall customer experience and revenue growth.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing our hotel booking platform and services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field; alternatively, Analytics or Data is also relevant. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or a related role within the travel or hospitality industry.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software like Tableau, Looker, Looker Studio, or any other BI tool.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or Google suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Experience with supplier optimization in the travel or tech industry.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other analytical programming languages.
- Knowledge of hotel booking platforms and industry trends.
