About the Role/Job Overview: As Programme Lead, you'll play a vital role in delivering Aidlink's ambitious new strategic plan. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll provide strategic direction and oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our impactful programs. This includes:

  • Partner Relations & Programme Management: Cultivating strong relationships with our partners in Kenya and Uganda, providing guidance and support throughout the project cycle, and ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation.
  • Donor Relations: Securing funding for our vital work by managing relationships with Irish Aid, foundations, trusts, and corporate donors. You'll develop compelling proposals, ensure timely reporting, and cultivate new funding opportunities.
  • Organisational Development & Capacity Building: Working with partners to strengthen their organizational capacity through tailored training and support, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our programs.
  • Strategic & Policy Support: Contributing to Aidlink's strategic planning, policy development, and advocacy efforts, ensuring our work remains relevant and impactful.
  • Development Education & Immersion Programme Support: Contributing to our educational outreach initiatives, including supporting immersive programs for Irish students visiting our partner communities.
What You'll Bring:
  • Passion and commitment: A deep understanding of and commitment to Aidlink's values and a strong belief in our mission to create a more just and equitable world.
  • Partnership and rights-based approach: A strong understanding of and commitment to partnership principles, localization, and rights-based approaches to development.
  • Proven experience: At least 2 years of experience in project cycle management, including partnership management, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze data, write compelling proposals and reports, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborative spirit: A positive and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.
  • Relevant qualifications: A Master's degree in a field related to social development, poverty reduction, or humanitarian assistance.
  • Knowledge of East Africa: Experience working in a development context in Kenya or Uganda is highly desirable.
