Head Of Safety About the Company Globally-recognized telescope project Industry Consumer Goods Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Head of Safety to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive Safety Program that complies with all relevant ES&H requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for instilling a culture of safety, organizing and conducting safety training, and overseeing safety practices to protect personnel and high-value equipment. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, a minimum of 7 years of experience in safety practices at large industrial construction sites, and expertise in safety standards related to various hazardous materials and equipment. The Head of Safety will also be involved in safety audits, and training program development, and must have the ability to communicate and lead teams to ensure a safe work environment.
Applicants for the Head of Safety position at the company must possess a solid understanding of safety principles, regulations, and practices, as well as a proven track record in leading safety initiatives within a technical organization. Essential qualifications include experience in fire and earthquake safety management, the ability to work with a diverse range of technical personnel, and a background in formulating and maintaining safety standards. The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and the flexibility to travel to various work locations, including the remote construction site in Chile. The Head of Safety will also be involved in the selection of contractors based on their safety programs and will play a key role in ensuring that safety is a top priority throughout the organization.
