[Ref. No.: 3/03SH/MTI9/HKTDC ] The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks a dynamic, high-caliber and experienced professional to join our Merchandise Trade and Innovation Department. The Department’s goal is to help Hong Kong companies diversify markets and develop business opportunities. Responsibilities:

  • As Section Head in charge of the promotional activities in relation to Mainland Chinese markets, including projects that will be co-organised with national / provincial / city governments, bureaux/departments
  • Leading a small professional team to build up networks and collaborations with Mainland-related official representatives in Hong Kong
  • Organising high-level bilateral committee meetings and programmes in Hong Kong/Mainland China/overseas, identifying new business opportunities to Hong Kong enterprises
  • Receiving Mainland incoming business delegations and providing support to their trade promotional activities in Hong Kong
Requirements:
  • University graduate with a minimum of 12 years’ solid managerial experience, preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; exhibition/event organisation or public/corporate relations etc.
  • Strong inclination and understanding of national and Hong Kong economy, trade and business arena covering various industries, and markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language an advantage
  • Mature with superior skills in sales, marketing and communication
  • A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and outgoing with good project planning ability
  • Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure
Remuneration and Benefits: The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract with prospects for renewal upon expiry. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus an appropriate contract-end gratuity. Medical benefits and annual leave will be offered.
