No.: 3/03SH/MTI9/HKTDC ] The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks a dynamic, high-caliber and experienced professional to join our Merchandise Trade and Innovation Department. The Department’s goal is to help Hong Kong companies diversify markets and develop business opportunities. Responsibilities:
- As Section Head in charge of the promotional activities in relation to Mainland Chinese markets, including projects that will be co-organised with national / provincial / city governments, bureaux/departments
- Leading a small professional team to build up networks and collaborations with Mainland-related official representatives in Hong Kong
- Organising high-level bilateral committee meetings and programmes in Hong Kong/Mainland China/overseas, identifying new business opportunities to Hong Kong enterprises
- Receiving Mainland incoming business delegations and providing support to their trade promotional activities in Hong Kong
- University graduate with a minimum of 12 years’ solid managerial experience, preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; exhibition/event organisation or public/corporate relations etc.
- Strong inclination and understanding of national and Hong Kong economy, trade and business arena covering various industries, and markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language an advantage
- Mature with superior skills in sales, marketing and communication
- A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and outgoing with good project planning ability
- Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure
