Mō te tūranga | About the role Here in the Southern region, we are dedicated to helping you deepen your knowledge and understanding of midwifery. We offer a comprehensive 12-month programme, 32 hours (0.8FTE) per week with the flexibility of 0.6 FTE being considered. Successful applicants will begin their role anytime from December 2024 onwards. As a new graduate in your Midwifery First Year of Practice, you will gain experience across a range of options including (but not exhaustive):

• Secondary & tertiary hospital environments - rotations through the antenatal, labour and birthing suite, and postnatal wards.
• Primary maternity unit and hubs located in urban, semi- urban, rural and remote settings
• Experience working in a caseload team alongside our maternity settings.
• Be part of an integrated system where primary, secondary and tertiary services network and provide a safe childbearing journey

Our Director of Midwifery, Midwife Managers, Educators, Clinical Coaches and midwives will support you through your journey in caring for our whānau. • Graduated with a Bachelor of Midwifery in 2024 or 2025
