They currently have 200+ employees in offices and sites in Ireland, UK, and Norway and have ambitious plans in the pipeline to build a new 8,000 sqm R&D Manufacturing Hub to fuel the next stage of their growth plan. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute Estimator with a keen eye for detail and delivery who understands the broader Construction/Building Envelope Industry. For the right candidate with ambition, dedication, and performance focus, this role could evolve into a management position in the medium to long term.Job Purpose:
This estimator role will consist of the preparation of cost estimates, detailed schedules, analysing tender drawings & documentation, ensuring tenders are submitted accurately and on time, maximising profit and customer satisfaction, as well as attending client meetings when required. You will also proactively build trusted professional relationships with clients and supply chain partners.Key Responsibilities:
- Collation of key project requirements and specifications from tender documentation
- Collaborate closely with Design & Detailing teams in the detailed scheduling process
- Develop extensive product knowledge across Steel rebar and prefabricated solutions
- Partner effectively with clients to revise designs, contracts, and specifications
- Produce accurate quotations, specifications, and contracts
- Keep up to date on material prices, supply chain, logistics price increases
- Log all enquiries and orders accurately on the system as soon as they come in
- Help manage relevant supply chain and procurement operations as required
- Support relevant projects and process improvement initiatives proactively
Candidate Experience & Competencies:
- A minimum of three years' experience within a similar Estimator role
- Experience working within Pre-cast Concrete or Rebar Steel is advantageous
- Relevant construction qualification, HND or relevant 3rd level qualification preferable
- Proven experience in reviewing and formulating detailed tender bids in a professional manner to tight deadlines
- Experience in reviewing tender documentation, analysing contract documents and formulating detailed tender bids
- Liaising with design teams, PQS firms or other stakeholders to ensure detail and specifications are consistently met
- The ability to work on your own initiative with a strong working knowledge of the Build Environment and Construction industry
- The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with all key stakeholders
- Strong organisation and negotiation skills ensuring materials are sourced and delivered within budget and at the right time
- Focus on results and strive for continuous improvement
- Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality
- Strong communication and negotiating skills are essential
- Proficient I.T Systems & Microsoft Office literacy
