Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans the cathodic protection systems surveys for all transformer rectifiers, sacrificial anode systems, continuity and cross bonding points and insulating flanges. Plans the cathodic protection annual surveys for all pipelines and storage tanks. Leads the corrosion technician team on site where appropriate.
- Analyses all generated CP data and makes decisions for further action where appropriate (troubleshooting, specialist surveys or refurbishment).
- Prepares CP reports (periodic and ad hoc), scopes of work for specialist CP surveys, scopes of work for CP refurbishment.
- Arranges supervision of contractors on CP jobs, typically technicians for refurbishment jobs.
- Reviews documentation for new projects from the various Engineering Divisions within Gas Operations as well as from Engineering Department Mesaieed and Engineering Department Pipelines.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Candidate shall possess any of the engineering degrees:
- Bachelor's degree in Material Science and Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- The candidate shall be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
- He shall be computer literate and familiar with MS Word and Excel. He shall be able to work under own initiative.
- The work entails a high percentage of time on site.
Experience
- The candidate shall have a minimum of ten (10) years documented CP experience.
- He shall have the ability to pass QatarEnergy Permit to Work system and Consolidated Permit to Work system.
- Shall pass PTW or ePTW as specified by Mesaieed Operations Qatar Energy HSE as required.
