Job Responsibilities

1. Install and maintain underground electrical cables by pulling cables through underground conduits, trenches or pipes and joining them in transmission and distribution systems.
2. Carry out electrical underground works which include connecting new supplies, diversions, and alterations, as well as locating and repairing faults.
3. Perform cable jointing work related to the construction, reinforcement, alteration, replacement, and repair of electricity distribution network assets.
4. Conduct tests to check cable integrity and locate faults. If problems are found, undertake maintenance work and repair the cables.
5. Update and maintain location guides for the layout of cable systems.
6. Test insulation, voltage, phasing, phase rotation, and continuity on cables, and carry out network switching operations on HV systems.
7. Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
