Baker Tilly REO LLP is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our growing team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Review complex Canadian individual and corporate tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff
- Review and approve technical research and tax planning recommendations for private companies
- Deliver high quality tax planning, services, and advice
- Work closely with Tax Partners and other senior staff on business tax compliance, tax provision and tax advisory engagements
- Actively mentor and coach staff to their highest potential
- Build and manage client relationships at a senior level within core hours of 9:30 to 4 and identify client service opportunities
A successful candidate will have:
- Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent
- Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Master of Tax Program
- 7+ years of public accounting experience with a tax specialty
- Excellent technical knowledge of Canadian tax related issues and of GAAP requirements for tax provisions
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and develop team members
- Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
