- Visit and assess locations for suitability, considering lighting, accessibility, and aesthetics.
- Negotiate with property owners to secure permissions and contracts for location use.
- Obtain necessary permits and handle legal requirements for filming.
- Present location options with detailed descriptions, photos, and videos to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate logistics such as transport, parking, and equipment needs for location shoots.
- Ensure safety compliance and meet health and safety standards at each location.
- Manage budgets for location fees, travel expenses, and permits.
- Collaborate with production teams (director, production designer, etc.) to align locations with creative and technical needs.
- Solve location-related problems (e.g., weather, access issues) to keep the shoot on track.
- Maintain relationships with property owners and create a database of potential future locations.
- Document scouting outcomes and challenges to improve future location selection processes.
