- Supervise daily shipping operations, including scheduling shipments, tracking deliveries, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Supervise Logistics and Delivery staff, providing training and guidance to enhance performance and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Work with superior to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in shipping and logistics operations.
- Prepare decision analysis reports on the forwarders' or transporters' quotations based on quality, delivery, and cost.
- Maintain fair relationships with shipping carriers and transporters, negotiating contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal pricing and service levels.
- Analyze logistics and shipping data and performance metrics to identify trends and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Explore, identify, evaluate, and select transporters and shipping agents based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for project-related activities.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with agreements.
- In charge of tenders related to Logistics and Shipping to secure the best price and services when necessary.
- Work with Purchasing, Sales, and IMC departments to address shipping and logistics inquiries and resolve issues related to deliveries. Foster and maintain good relationships with Customs.
- Carry out shipping activities which comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Supervise the Logistics team and monitor submission of MIDA quarterly reports in collaboration with IMC and QA departments.
- Manage Inventory Scrap Disposal applications in collaboration with IMC and QA departments. Handle Customs queries and get the application approved by Customs within the planned timeline.
- Undertake any other projects as assigned by superiors from time to time.
- Academic Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience - Minimum 5 years of working experience in manufacturing related to Shipping and Logistics. Previous experience in Procurement or Logistics Management, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Key Skills/Knowledge – Strong knowledge of Logistics and Shipping operations. Good presentation skills using M/S PowerPoint and strong background in Microsoft Excel with knowledge in Data Analysis and Pivoting.
- Preferred Language: Malay, English.
- Possess a valid driving license.
