Job Description Job Responsibilities:

  1. Champion the company's business development initiatives by spearheading the creation of innovative financial models and market approaches in partnership with internal teams and business partners. Oversee feasibility studies, proposal development, and bid management, ensuring that marketing strategies and communications align with market trends, positioning the company for long-term competitive advantage.
  2. Take ownership of the business development budget and financial forecasting to ensure cost-effectiveness, profitability, and alignment with strategic objectives. Continuously evaluate financial performance of ongoing projects and partnerships, identifying areas for revenue generation, cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  3. Lead the establishment and nurturing of high-impact, long-term relationships with existing and potential partners, clients and service providers. Develop a strategic approach to identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, fostering collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and market demands. Explore and establish strategic alliances, joint ventures and partnerships that align with the company’s long-term business goals.
  4. Develop and sustain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with the company’s goals. Foster mutual trust, operational efficiency, and enhanced business integrity, while continuously seeking opportunities to strengthen the company’s market position and reputation. Cultivate and maintain a strong working relationship with key government bodies, particularly the Ministry of Health, to influence and secure new project opportunities. Proactively engage with the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities to stay informed on upcoming government projects, tenders and regulatory changes that may impact business development efforts.
  5. Facilitate effective engagement with clients and internal teams during the deployment and mobilisation of new services or projects. Conduct in-depth risk assessments and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to sustain operational productivity, ensuring both business continuity and client satisfaction.
  6. Lead market research initiatives to stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies. Use this intelligence to identify market shifts and proactively adjust business strategies to maintain a competitive edge. Regularly assess the company’s market position and explore new revenue streams by expanding into new markets, sectors, or service lines.
  7. Stay ahead of market trends by continuously scanning for emerging opportunities, new technologies, and industry developments to position the company as a leader in the healthcare engineering services sector. Leverage creativity and strategic foresight to develop innovative business models, services, and solutions that meet evolving client needs and market demands. Lead the exploration and adoption of "next big thing" initiatives, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of industry advancements and maintains a competitive advantage.
  8. Lead collaboration efforts across various business functions to ensure seamless coordination in project budgeting, planning, and execution. Align integrated work streams, service readiness activities, and risk mitigation efforts to maximise operational effectiveness and ensure optimal return on investment.
  9. Provide inspirational leadership, clear direction, and ongoing support to build and maintain a high-performing team. Facilitate continuous development opportunities, offer constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability throughout the organisation.
Job Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field is essential.
  2. Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred, especially with a focus on business strategy, leadership, or healthcare.
  3. At least 10+ years of experience in business development, stakeholder management, or a similar leadership role within the healthcare, engineering, or services sector.
  4. Proven track record of securing government contracts, particularly within the healthcare sector, is crucial for navigating relationships with the Ministry of Health.
  5. Experience in large-scale, nationwide projects or business initiatives would be highly advantageous. Experience working on project acquisition, financial feasibility, and tender processes in a business development role.
  6. Professional certifications related to healthcare management or business development, such as Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC), can be a plus.
  7. Technical and Sector Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare regulations, industry standards, and complex business models.
  8. Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale projects.
  9. Communication & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills with experience in stakeholder engagement and contract negotiations.
  10. Creativity & Innovation: Ability to identify emerging market trends and develop innovative business solutions.
