Work with tool design engineer and toolmakers in the areas of new tools fabrication and tool servicing. Ensure that the entire tooling group is supporting the tooling needs and meeting the expectations according to production quantity plan and customer quality requirements. Work with the team of toolmakers in achieving the goals & objectives. Provide technical tooling support to the T&D and production line to achieve technical & quality requirements. Technical support to tool designing and sales in meeting customers requirements. Support tooling supervisor to ensure tool readiness to support production. Liaise with production and planner to set priority schedule based on tooling status. Liaise with Design department on tool improvement for greater output and efficiency. Lead the tooling team in problem solving, identification of problems & analysis of root cause. Lead/support continuous improvements in tool/work processes. Work closely with toolroom on machining needs for tooling modification and improvement program. Assist to manage the overall tooling group to ensure efficient allocation of resources and as well as meeting the needs of the department. Train, guide and counsel toolmakers. Act on behalf of the Principal Engineer in his absence. Any other duties as may be assigned by superior and/or management. Job Specification Diploma in Precision Engineering and or Technical qualification in Tool & Die making. 12 to 15 years in Tool & Die making in the metal stamping industry. Excellent in Tool Servicing, Tool Assembly, Tool Trouble-Shooting skills and Dimension inspection in the metal stamping industry. Good Leadership, Good tool trouble-shooting, Strong analytical & problem analysis and application of SPC tools. Ability to operate Toolroom machines such as surface grind, punch former, radius dresser, milling, lathe, etc. Passionate in tool making, Responsible, Creative, Positive, Initiative, Honest, Meticulous, Independent, Progressive thinking and the Ability to work as a team.
