Description The Road Sign Foreman works within a company specializing in safety and road signs, or a construction company, to supervise operations related to signage on road and general construction sites. He is responsible for guaranteeing the safety of workers and the public by installing and maintaining signaling devices that comply with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Plan and coordinate road signage activities on road and construction sites, in collaboration with foremen and project managers (mobilization and demobilization). Analyze and revise work orders and signage plans. Ensure that your team members have completed their regulatory inspection, verification and preparation. Supervise and direct teams of workers assigned to the installation, maintenance and removal of traffic devices, such as signs, cones, barriers and temporary traffic lights. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in force regarding road signs, ensuring that the devices installed are visible, clear and comply with legal requirements. Participate in the preliminary inspection of construction sites to assess signage needs and develop detailed plans accordingly. Coordinate the delivery, storage and maintenance of signaling equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and ready for use. Train and coach team members on safety procedures and road sign best practices. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and hours worked by employees, to document activities and facilitate cost tracking. Communicate effectively with other stakeholders on site, including workers, engineers, inspectors and local authorities, to ensure effective coordination of signaling operations. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring that signaling devices do not obstruct traffic or pose safety risks. At the end of the project, ensure that your team unloads their trucks correctly, that they are clean and that the equipment is properly placed in the yard. Requirements Previous experience in a similar construction site management role, preferably in the field of road signs or construction, an asset Hold an occupational health and safety card, an asset. In-depth knowledge of road sign standards and regulations. Great listening and problem-solving skills. Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Ability to work in a high-pressure work environment while meeting tight (restricted) deadlines. Team spirit. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in emergency situations.
