We work with top tier insurance clients across Ontario with a focus on Etobicoke, Brampton, Vaughan, Toronto, Niagara Region, Hamilton, London, Barrie and Kitchener to place candidates in the best positions available in the industry.  We are hiring a Commercial  Lines Account Manager, for our client, located in Waterloo , to add to their growing team.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a commercial broker with a track record for providing excellence in customer service. You use every customer interaction as an opportunity to learn more about their individual circumstance and provide thoughtful, appropriate insurance advice.  Attention to detail is a must for this role along with a willingness to be part of a collaborative team.  Responsibilities: 

  • Develop relationships through educating and informing those you connect with.
  • Strategically develop and maintain a sales funnel using a number of techniques and strategies including attending events, LinkedIn, Twitter, direct calls, etc.
  • Identify exposures/risks associated with prospects operations and or gaps in existing coverage and work towards presenting risk management and or insurance solutions to address them.
  • Gather underwriting information from prospects, prepare submissions and secure the best terms available from the markets for quotes through negotiations.
  • Develop and present insurance proposals to clients.
  • Win often…to achieve mutually agreeable growth targets
The successful candidate must also possess the following skills
  • Post-secondary education, Undergraduate Degree preferred.
  • 4 – 5+ years of commercial insurance industry experience
  • Valid  RIBO License
  • CIP CRM or  CAIB  or working towards an insurance designation is preferred
  • Working knowledge of TAM is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Policy Works is an asset
  • Computer skills – proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently
