Details

  • The full-time position requires working 32 hours a week, Monday-Saturday, 7am-7pm MST.
  • 100% of the required 32 hours must be worked in VRS. Anything above 32 hours can be worked in other job codes.
  • Selected candidates must remain in their full-time position for one year before moving to part-time.
Hours Requirement: A minimum of 10 hours of interpreting services required per month (at leadership's discretion). Shifts: Available hours are Monday-Saturday, 7am-7pm MT. Selected individuals will be asked to work at least one shift on either Monday, Friday, or Saturday.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass our required skills assessment
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required)
  • 3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly regulated, and customer service-focused environment
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
  • Maintain compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
  • Demonstrate full compliance with Sorenson standards and policies, FCC regulations, and the RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Accurately complete assigned tasks/duties, projects, and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelines
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the VRS industry
  • Possess the ability to quickly learn and implement new and changing technologies
  • Work effectively in a team environment; support colleagues and receive support
  • Work effectively in an environment with oversight that may include call monitoring, mentoring, and evaluations
  • Enhance interpreting skills through continued education training
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to complete additional duties and assignments on an ongoing basis
