Description The Sheet Metal Worker Apprentice is a skilled professional specializing in the fabrication and installation of metal elements, contributing to the robust and durable construction of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. He works in collaboration with a Verified Sheet Metal Worker. This role involves expert handling of materials such as zinc, copper, and aluminum to create essential elements like ventilation ducts, roofs, gutters, and decorative metalwork. Responsibilities •Read the plans, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the equipment to be installed. •Trace, manufacture and install, on construction sites, all kinds of sheet metal objects. •Install and repair ventilation, air conditioning, hot air heating systems, and/or any system used to evacuate various materials. •Install prefabricated metal objects, exterior coverings, as well as covering metal roofs. •Apply drawing, cutting, folding, anchoring and mechanical or thermal assembly processes. •Assemble, install and repair the ducts of the air treatment systems, recovery and evacuation systems of various liquids or gases found in buildings and industrial buildings. Requirements •Degre in tinsmithing, or equivalent training, or equivalent experience, an asset. •Certification in health and safety on construction sites, an asset. •Experience as a tinsmith, an asset. •Knowledge of metalworking techniques including cutting, bending and welding, an asset. •Ability to read and interpret construction plans, an asset. •Manual skills and ability to use specialized tools. •Attention to detail and precision in the work.
