Tuath Housing Association is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solicitor to join their Corporate Services Department at Tuath Housing Association (“Tuath”). This is a full time position, reporting to the Chief Governance Legal and People Officer. As an in-house solicitor, you will play a crucial role in providing a range of legal services in support of Tuath’s business objectives. The Solicitor will have a significant involvement in advising on landlord and tenant disputes, internal company policies, workforce issues, management contracts and outsourcing agreements. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Acting as the main point of contact with our Housing and Rents Team to advise on landlord and tenant issues.
  2. Draft and issue warning letters, RTB notices, District Court Summonses and County Sheriff requests.
  3. Advise on and attend RTB hearings. Ensure follow-through on all cases until vacant possession is secured.
  4. Advise on litigation matters and liaise with external solicitors and counsel on behalf of Tuath.
  5. Advise on the management of properties and associated duties related to Tuath’s role as a social landlord.
  6. Assist the existing solicitors with existing caseloads, as necessary.
  7. Have a strong focus on engaging, empowering and supporting team members within the Corporate Services Department.
  8. Actively develop the relationship between the work of the Legal Department and its internal customers by collaborating on projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong in-depth understanding of landlord and tenant law and litigation and can proactively advise the Association in relation to their legal obligations. You will also have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to foster a strong culture of adherence to standards and best practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr
