General Summary: The Solution Architect will provide audio & video sales, consultation, concept and/or technical design & engineering support to the account management and acquisition sales teams including, but not limited to, creative concept and engineering direction, full and complete solution design, the creation of internal and client-facing quotes and proposals including cost estimates, proposed hardware, device placement drawings, full operational drawings and detailed scope of work narratives. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Adopts a client-centric, pro-active, strategic and Global approach to all activities and decision making.
  • Provides audio & video technical and solution consultation, expertise and support to account management and acquisitions teams
  • Assists in needs analysis discoveries (design intent specifically focused on experience, coverage, functionality and performance) with clients to determine “pain” and present solutions that solve that “pain”.
  • Prepares proposal & solution design packages (layout device drawings, elevation drawings, detailed design drawings, single-line drawings, etc.) & participates or leads in final sales presentations
  • For clients who have defined solutions and systems design needs/requirements, the Solution Architect will review and complete proposals/quotes and systems design packages in accordance with any particular project-specific requirements based on coverage deviations, budget decisions, design elements (example: ceiling type, ceiling height, overall space dimensions, etc.)
  • Contributes to thought leadership and pro-active preparation and presentation of solution packages for account management and acquisitions teams to achieve revenue growth
  • Assist in the preparation of all pricing, including labor analysis, equipment pricing, general conditions, direct job expenses, and any cost elements required to complete the formal audio and/or video proposal.
  • Interfaces with Owners, Architect/Engineers, and any other contractors or subcontractors to provide clarity of scope, design assistance, and trade coordination.
  • Upon contract award, attends kick-off meeting with Operations project team. Provide detailed technical and financial information to the project team to ensure that they have a detailed understanding of the project contract, scope, technical requirements, budget, and schedule in order to successfully deliver the project.
  • Establishes, develops and nurtures relationships with clients, vendors, reps, and manufacturers at the highest levels, increasing Mood:Media global leadership advantage.
  • Ability to work with all members of the Mood family and work through issues together
  • Organizing and prioritizing projects and daily tasks effectively

Required Travel: If the job requires overnight travel, what percentage of time is spent away from home base? 15-25% Essential Job Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree from 2 year College or Technical School or equivalent experience experience as described below
  • Equivalent Experience: 10 or more years of experience in AV Engineering and Systems Design, creative design, multiple and varied technologies, decision maker interaction, sales and operations processes. Preferred: formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Direct field experience designing, engineering and managing the installation of complex audio, video, projection, and control systems.
  • Formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields.
  • Senior level writing skills including technical writing, salesmanship for project specific scope or qualifications, letter writing, and generation of detailed clarifications and exclusions to define scope boundaries. Must have the ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision. Mastery of the English language.
  • Proficient in business applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and be excellent in math and budgeting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized, and unflustered under pressure; ensuring that the quality of workmanship is of the highest standard.
  • Must be detail oriented, applying the diligence required to provide accurate pricing and scope definition.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and challenges with efficiency and effectiveness, seeing each task through to completion.
  • Must be able to understand and adapt to the customer’s expectations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing large scale A/V design and build projects
Preferred certification or licenses:
  • CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, EE, AA, BA, BS, MA, MS
  • Q-SYS LEVEL 01
  • BIAMP TESIRA
  • CRESTRON CTI
  • AUTOCAD
