We are currently seeking Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our teams in Newman, Karratha, and Port Hedland. Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will diagnose, repair, maintain and test motor vehicle and other internal combustion engines and related mechanical components. Service and repair a wide range of light vehicles, trailers, buses, cranes, and large trucks you will also be required maintain a safe working environment. Tasks Include:
- Detecting and diagnosing faults in vehicle parts and engines
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, steering mechanisms transmissions, and other components, and checking integrity of parts
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, with the ability to interpret service manuals as required
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine servicing to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with emission regulations
- Reassembling engines and parts after repair
- Testing and modifying mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of diagnostics
- Inspecting vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve safety standards
- Sound understanding of safe working and housekeeping practices
- Trade qualified or equivalent
- Strong English level required
- Previous experience in a similar role for at least 5 years
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and able to work effectively and collaboratively with the team
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Be reliable, punctual & hardworking
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety
- Current Driver's Licence HC /MC preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment and positive work ethic
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
- Hourly rate $40.00 – $45 Per Hour based on minimum 38-hour week
- Subsidised housing and utilities offered to successful applicants

- These roles are open to permanent Australian residents only and are residentially based in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and no FIFO will be considered.
