We have been serving the Cape and the Torres Strait region for over thirty years and have extensive experience providing air services to remote and communities throughout Queensland. Founded in 1990, the airline has over 200 staff, with head office in Cairns and bases in Brisbane, Townsville, Rockhampton and Horn Island. Skytrans currently operates a fleet of 13 regional aircraft including 7 Dash-8 aircraft, specialising in Regular Public Transport (RPT), charter services, and ACMI operations across the Asia-Pacific region, Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait. Who You Are As a member of the Cabin Crew team, you are a dedicated and enthusiastic professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You embody the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and efficiency. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to interact effectively with a diverse range of passengers. You will have the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations, while being comfortable operating as solo cabin crew and on smaller aircraft. What You Will Do Reporting to the Cabin Services Manager, this full-time position encompasses responsibilities including, but not limited to: • Announce and demonstrate safety and emergency procedures • Direct and assist passengers in the event of an emergency • Provide outstanding support to all passengers, including unaccompanied minors, nervous travellers, and those with limited English proficiency. • Assist in cleaning the cabin between flights • Administer first aid to passengers or coordinate first aid efforts, as required • Provide the highest possible service to our passengers by ensuring all needs are met, and exceeded where possible • Provide outstanding support to all passengers, including unaccompanied minors, nervous travelers, and those with limited English proficiency. • Liaise with the pilot-in-command in order to properly coordinate the effects of any operational requirements (e.g. weather, passenger requirements, early descents, diversions etc.)• Ensure that food, beverages and other supplies are in adequate supply Minimum Requirements • Hold a current a current Australian First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)• Hold a current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)• Hold a current Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol 'Statement of Attainment', (to be achieved before finalisation of the recruitment process)• Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity • Able to successfully obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) which involves a police security check • Be 18 years of age or older • Be able to demonstrate that you have: - Completed a minimum 3 years of secondary education in Australia or New Zealand, or - Worked in Australia or New Zealand for at least 3 of the last 5 years, or - Worked in the UK, Ireland or USA for at least 3 of the last 5 years, or - Completed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall grade of 5.5. • Be able to swim fully clothed without aid or floating device for 50 meters, and tread water for 3 minutes • Previous experience on the Dash8 or similar aircraft will be highly regarded • Have excellent Health and Fitness, normal function of ear, nose and throat • Have adequate vision with or without glasses • Able to work a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)• Have experience in customer service • Have a high level of personal presentation How to Apply: If you have the skills and attributes, we are looking for we'd love to hear from you.
