You will be responsible for planning and coordination of material requirements to support all scheduled, non-scheduled, and cabin standard maintenance activities across Qatar Airways fleet. This includes initial provisioning, material requirement planning to support all modification/cabin reconfiguration/ad-hoc maintenance requirements, business process review, KPI development, and management. An important element of the job function is also to maintain system data integrity and accuracy of data used in spare calculation and inventory optimization.

Some of the tasks include:

Continuously evaluate existing processes & system to identify areas of improvement by setting and maintaining service standards/targets.

Analyze business process/performance metrics, and compare it to industry best practices.

Perform cost & scenario analysis, benchmarking, and KPI development & management.

Cross-function with purchasing, repair, and contract departments to enhance business solutions, and actively participate in RFI/RFT/RFP processes.

Devise automated simulations to measure proposed changes in inventory calculation methodology and procedures.

Evaluate and review Trax system generated open re-order level requisitions on a daily basis, and liaise with the respective Supply Chain buyer for ordering or recommending necessary adjustments to max/min and re-order levels.

Review all other materials requisitions & take necessary action.

Review scrap notes, and corresponding float levels to determine if replacement is justified. Initiate replacement actions via Purchase Requests and distribute to appropriate buyer to minimize delay with procurement action.

Provide assistance to AOG desk team to clear AOG demands by determining if required AOG parts are available on next higher or lower assemblies as available in stock.

Investigate and identify alternate and/or interchangeable part numbers based on airframe/engine manufacturers approved technical documentation to ensure the correctness of data and avoid duplication of inventory.

Manage & control shortages of parts through various shortage reports.

Coordinate with Engineering Services, Engineering Planning, Aircraft Maintenance, MOCC Defect Control section, and associated Workshops to resolve queries related to aircraft parts.

In conjunction with Purchasing, establish and re-set consumable re-order levels accordingly to support future demand.

Produce reports in support of Material Planning activity and check progress as requested by Senior Materials Planner.

Manage hard time component forecasts and ensure parts availability for scheduled component removals.

Review & take necessary actions on nil stock, below safety stock reports and other support methods to improve spare service levels.

Maintain adequate inventory at all times to ensure uninterrupted service and completion of scheduled and planned maintenance activity.

Review and ensure re-order levels for all the expendable and consumable spare parts are set up in the TRAX system and ensure re-order requisitions are generated to negate NIL Stock situations.

Evaluate & monitor float levels for all the rotable and repairable parts to ensure sufficient inventory is maintained as per the assigned fleet type. If required, generate float increase form in accordance with the approved procedure & process for Management approval.

Provide a Poisson distribution float calculation in support of recommendations for float reviews.

Review inventory regularly to determine slow or non-moving parts, obsolete parts, and surplus materials that can be offered on sale, loan, or exchange to other airlines or companies.

Qualifications

About you

Minimum qualification of High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent is essential.

4+ years of job-related experience.

Previous experience within an airline or MRO Materials Planning Department.

Familiar with aircraft technical publications and provisioning data.

Sound knowledge on RSPL & provisioning of Aircraft Spare Parts, Consumable Materials, Tools, GSE required for initial and ongoing operational needs.

Ability to understand Technical Publications and Company Publications as related to Storage of aircraft parts such as ATA chapters, Vendor Manuals, IPC, CMM, TEM, SDM, Shelf Life Manual, and TPM.

Knowledge of float review for rotable parts using Poisson distribution float calculations.

Knowledge of re-order level & Economic Order Quantity for expendable parts.

Ability to understand defect standards like MDD, BDD, ADD & CDD.

Familiar with EASA, FAA, and QCAA regulations.

Good persistent communicator and capable of handling multi-tasks often under pressure and without immediate supervision.

Ability to compile data to furnish statistical reports to management to evaluate inventory status or perform statistical analysis of inventory data.

Strong interpersonal & negotiation skills, solid judgment with ability to make good decisions during the contract review process.

Hands-on experience with different MRO ERP systems, preferably on TRAX.

Good command of the English language.

Special IT Skill:

Good knowledge and exposure to computerized inventory controlling systems.

Special IT skills to extract and analyze data using advanced Excel formulas/graphs/power queries, Oracle-SQL, Power BI, etc.

Ability to acquire customized data from data sources.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Develop and implement data collection & analytic techniques, templates, simulation models, and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality.

Basic understanding of databases.

Proven working experience using Basic to Intermediate SQL.

Experience in creating data models & reporting (Tabular reports & visualization, templates, and dynamic dashboards).
