We are working on behalf of a leading health and life insurer to find a Software Asset Management Specialist or Analyst for a newly created role within their team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for building and developing processes in SAM, particularly with experience in managing complex software licensing environments. About the Role: The SAM Specialist will focus on managing software assets for a major vendor, working within a team to build the SAM process from the ground up. This role will give you the opportunity to work with multiple major vendors, such as IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Microsoft , and to collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams. You'll be expected to bring a strategic mindset to the role and help shape the software asset management function. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of SAM processes for a key vendor.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including a project manager and data analysts, as well as offshore teams.
  • Manage software licensing positions in data centre environments.
  • Support the overall strategy and maturity of the SAM function within the organisation.
Requirements:
  • Experience in SAM, with a strong focus on licensing.
  • Proven experience with major vendors such as IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Microsoft.
  • Understanding of data centre complexities related to software asset management.
  • Self-motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience with SAM tools such as Xensam is highly desirable.
The Team and Environment: You will be joining a collaborative team that includes outsourced resources such as a project manager and data analysts, working closely with them to achieve the organisation's SAM goals. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a process and contribute to its long-term success. Interview Process: 1. Initial Teams interview (30-45 minutes) with the hiring manager. 2. Final face-to-face interview with senior management.
