About the role | Mō Te Tūranga The role of a Compliance Officer in a local government setting is to ensure that people are adhering to the wide range of rules and legislation that are administered by Council. Our initial approach is usually to work collaboratively with people to achieve an amicable outcome. As part of a multi-skilled team you will be involved in a range of work, including:
  1. Investigating and managing compliance with rules and regulations
  2. Monitoring of resource consents
  3. Assisting our Animal Management Officer
  4. Investigating health nuisances
We are looking for a pragmatic team player, who can quickly assess a situation, building rapport with people quickly to deliver a favourable outcome for all. Minimum Requirements:
  1. Experience in investigating and responding to complaints across a wide range of disciplines.
  2. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  3. Knowledge of District Plans and the Resource Management Act.
  4. Ideally, you will hold a G-Reg qualification already; however, it is not essential.
  5. A current full driver's licence.
