Applications invited for Professor of Mechanical Engineering & Aerospace Engineering Job Description: Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering Position: Professors Qualification: ME/M.Tech., and Ph.D Location: Bengaluru Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: • An eminent scholar with good track record of high quality publications in the reputed journals, significant research contribution to the discipline and engaged in research supervision. • A minimum of 10 - 15 years of teaching/research/academic experience as Professor or an equivalent grade in the University/College/National level premier institute. • Established national and international recognition and reputation in his/her fields of research and academia. • Provides advice, guidance, opinion as a leading national/international authority in the specialist subject areas. • Experienced in giving lectures and seminars to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and in designing and developing innovative material for teaching and seminars. • The selection shall be based on ten best publications in the Peer reviewed listed journals and award of minimum two Ph.D degrees under his/her supervision during last 10 years and interaction with a Selection Committee as per university norms. Additional Skills Required: • A keen sense of enquiry to result in innovation with a view to create an impact • A teacher-researcher (or vise-versa) with an openness to attain proficiency in the other area • A willingness to unlearn and re-learn • Faith and commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to learning and teaching • Well networked with respected senior academicians in ones area of interest both in India and abroad • Experience in and/or keenness towards Institution building activities • Connecting closely with the industry with a view to swiftly adapt syllabus and/or content and in so doing, making our students job ready and distinctly unique viz-a viz their peers • Create and deliver globally relevant courses with emphasis on experiential learning • Collaborative approach towards learning, teaching, research and functioning. • Be instrumental in challenging the way students think, learn and develop their understanding of academic disciplines. • Develop core curriculum and deliver course material effectively. • Publishing research, attending conferences, and delivering presentations to build a strong research network & writing proposals to secure research funding. • Organizing seminars and events to interact with established industry professionals. • Reviewing methods and teaching materials to make recommendations for improvement. • Supervising, advising and mentoring teaching assistants and graduate students. • Guiding and mentoring research scholars.
