Job Title : Billing Manager – Construction Location : Gurugram Reports To : Contracts & Billing Head Employment Type : Full-time Role Overview The Billing Manager oversees all aspects of billing and payment processes in construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely preparation, verification, and submission of invoices. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial accuracy, tracking project costs, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  1. Billing and Invoicing
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate project invoices based on work progress and contractual terms.
  • Verify subcontractor and vendor bills for accuracy and compliance with project agreements.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between actual site work and billing statements.
  1. Measurement and Verification
  • Coordinate with project and site teams to measure work completed and validate billing quantities.
  • Ensure alignment between progress reports, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and client billing.
  • Monitor deviations or changes in scope and update bills accordingly.
  1. Documentation and Compliance
  • Maintain detailed records of all invoices, payment approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal auditors to provide necessary documentation during audits.
  1. Coordination and Communication
  • Liaise with project managers, finance teams, and clients to resolve billing queries.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors and vendors regarding payment terms and invoice submissions.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on billing status and payment schedules.
  1. Cost and Financial Management
  • Track and report project expenses against budgets to avoid cost overruns.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on collections.
  • Analyze and report financial performance related to billing and cash flow.
  1. Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor billing team members to ensure high performance and accuracy.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills in billing systems and processes.
Qualifications Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 12-15s years of professional experience in construction billing, contracts, or financial management.
  • Proven expertise in managing billing processes for large-scale construction projects.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in billing software and tools such as SAP, Tally, MS Excel, or ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, contract terms, and project cost tracking.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume workloads and meet deadlines effectively.
Certifications (preferred):
  • Certification in Construction Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar fields.
