Optics Engineer We are seeking an experienced Optics Engineer to be part of our team. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for optical components and systems. The ideal candidate will have 2 years background in optical engineering, manufacturing techniques, and quality control processes, ensuring the production of high-precision optical products. Key Responsibilities: Process Development and Optimization: Design and implement manufacturing processes for optical components, including lenses, mirrors, prisms, and coatings. Optimize fabrication methods such as grinding, polishing, coating, and assembly to improve efficiency and precision. Production Support: Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. Ensure that all production processes meet quality and performance specifications. Equipment and Technology Management: Specify, procure, and maintain manufacturing equipment for optical production. Develop and implement advanced technologies, such as automated systems, to enhance production capabilities. Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Perform inspections, measurements, and testing of optical components using interferometers, profilometers, and other metrology tools. Design Collaboration: Work closely with optical designers to ensure manufacturability of new products. Provide feedback on design adjustments for optimal production results. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and technical reports. Analyse production data and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance product yield, reduce costs, and improve cycle times. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in optical manufacturing and incorporate them into the production process. Requirements Designing, modelling and analysing optical systems Optical manufacturing processes Code V or Zemax Optical software advanced user Statistical lens tolerancing Ghost and stray light analysis Design for manufacturing based on capabilities of Optical metrology Specification of precision opto-mechanical assemblies Data analysis using Matlab or other programs.
