Head of Business Unit Asia Overview / Job purpose The job holder is responsible for driving the success, profitability, and growth of the business unit. This leadership role includes strategic planning, operational management, financial oversight, and team leadership to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets. The Business Unit Head is also responsible for promoting and embodying GF values and culture, acting as a role model to inspire the team and foster a positive work environment. Key responsibilities include building client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and managing compliance and risk. Main objectives: Drive the growth of the business unit through strategic planning and operational excellence. Ensure profitability, market expansion, and achievement of set targets. Develop and support a motivated, high-performing team aligned with shared values. Development and guidance of GF PS in line with strategy and yearly targets together with the CEO of GF PS and the GEM colleagues. Create a high performance culture in own organisation that delivers the expected outcomes/results. Ensure own organisation acts according to external and internal guidelines, requirements, and policies. Formulate business objectives and (investment) strategies for the Business Unit in accordance with the GF PS strategy. Promote, develop and keep the GF values and culture; act as a role-model. Main tasks Leadership, culture and people Develop and keep a culture that promotes the creation and implementation of new ideas and innovation. Application of 4DX and 7 Habits in the organisation. Recruit and retain motivated and capable employees and talents. Promote the development of employees and talents in the organisation. Ensure and align development of potential successors for own position. Ensure yearly appraisals for all employees are implemented and performed; if needed, follow-up actions are defined and implemented (for low- and high-performer). Management – GEM membership Responsible for development and guidance of GF PS in line with common defined strategy and yearly targets; also including suitable cooperations and M&A projects. Representation of GF PS and own Business Unit internally and externally, especially towards customers, investors, partners, government and all other relevant stakeholders. Management – Own organisation Ensure own organisation meets all legal requirements and acts according to GF policies and guidelines. Arrange the organisation acts according to the health and safety, quality and environmental policy of the company/GF. Develop and implement a strategic business plan and initiatives aligned with division objectives and market opportunities. Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and innovative business models to drive competitive advantage. Lead the annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting process for the business unit. Goal definition and planning according to overall Budget and Strategy planning as well as Budget responsibility for own organisation. Collaboration and support as sparring partner for Managing Directors and the Management Teams to reach the company’s business strategies and objectives. Target setting with the companies and development of action plans. Functional tasks and responsibilities P&L responsibility in collaboration with global operations (Ops, SCM, iProcurement). Growing sales and develop new businesses (esp. industry segments and new applications); full potential strategies per SalesCo. Harmonization and standardization of sales processes and go to market strategies; top class sales enablement and customer proximity. Managing and further development of Prefabrication and OSM business and locations. Sustain and further grow business together with internal vertical organization. Coordination of Division- and/or Business Unit wide measures. Key Requirements for Head of BU Asia Leadership and Team Development: Strong leadership to build a high-performance culture. Experience in talent recruitment, development, and succession planning. Proven ability to foster innovation and act as a role model for company values. Strategic and Operational Management: Strategic thinking to align business goals with organizational objectives. Proficiency in P&L management, budgeting, and resource allocation. Experience in market expansion, sales process standardization, and customer engagement. Market Knowledge and Business Growth: In-depth knowledge of Asian market dynamics and industry trends. Expertise in identifying growth opportunities and managing partnerships or M&A. Functional Expertise: Strong background in supply chain, quality assurance, and health/safety compliance. Experience scaling prefabrication and off-site manufacturing businesses. Stakeholder Management: Effective communication and representation with customers, partners, and government bodies. Collaboration with global operations and senior management teams. Compliance and Governance: Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in Asia. Commitment to sustainability and adherence to internal policies and safety standards. Educational & Professional Background: Advanced degree (MBA preferred) and 10–15 years of leadership experience in industrial or multinational environments.
