Job details

• Collects the cashier's envelopes from the "Drop Safe Deposit Box" each morning and counts the contents in the presence of a witness.• Receives and banks all cheques received, including those received in the mail.• Banks the previous day's collection at the hotel's bank accounts on a daily basis.• Prepares the "Daily General Cashier Report" and forwards it to the Income Auditor for verification.• Provides small money for the Front Office Cashier as required for money change.• Verifies all cash receipts and foreign currency receipts used in numerical sequence to ensure collections are accounted for.• Ensures adherence to all cash and banking policy based on the voco Doha West Bay Suites Accounting Standards Manual.• Disburses all authorized petty cash vouchers and submits for reimbursement at least once weekly.• Monitors fluctuations of exchange rates and amends the Front Desk Exchange Rates notice accordingly on a daily basis.• Maintains a permanent record of all cash overages and shortages by individual cashier on a daily basis and submits this report to the Finance Manager for monthly review and signature.• Carries out spot checks on the entire house bank from time to time.• Keeps the safe closed at all times and fully locked when unattended regardless of the length of time involved.• Prepares petty cash journal voucher weekly.• Prepares Cash Receipt Journal at the end of each month.• Carries out any other duties as required by the hotel's management.• Supervises monthly payrolls with accuracy and timely payment of associates' salaries, benefits, and other related payments.• Regularly monitors the time and attendance system ensuring proper accounting of all payroll-related accruals.• Prepares month-end JV interface to the Financial System.• Prepares monthly payroll reconciliation.• Ensures that payroll policies and procedures of the Rabban Suites West Bay Doha are followed.• Compiles and inputs payroll data for hourly employee payroll.• Analyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll data for all personnel.• Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.• Ensures compliance with all applicable Qatar labor laws.• Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies.• Prepares final settlement calculations for leaving employees.• Assists with compiling and preparing various payroll-related reports.• Files and prepares personnel records for storage annually.• Performs other related duties as required and assigned by management.What we need from youRESPONSIBLE BUSINESS• Contributes to improving P&P's related to General Cashiering, Inventory, and Insurance processes as directed by the Finance Manager.• Coordinates Finance schedules with all programs including annual leaves.PEOPLE• Oversees work performance of new colleagues regarding posting, audit, and balance reporting.• Helps train new hires and on-the-job trainees.GENERAL• Communicates effectively with all other departments.• Identifies problems and determines solutions.• Attends meetings, training sessions, and any other required meetings or training sessions.• Identifies opportunities to innovate service delivery and product offerings to meet and exceed client expectations.• Ensures safe work practices are adopted at all times and reports any OHS concerns immediately to your direct manager or HR Manager.• Accountable for all cash in hand. Receives and disburses cash and ensures that they are properly accounted for.• Reconciles the Bank Book with the Bank Statement daily.• Ensures effective inventory management.• Maintains a professional and organized work environment.• Ensures that MIS Reports, presentations, and other accounting duties are consistently of a high standard, free of errors and omissions.PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSEducation• Bachelor in Commerce.Experience• Minimum 5 years of Cashier experience.Technical/Skills• Competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Vingcard, and related hospitality proprietary software packages preferably Bayan.• Competent oral and written English communication skills.• Strong organizational and work coordinating skills to handle multiple assignments and projects.Don't quite meet every single requirement, but still believe you'd be a great fit for the job?
