Position: Marine Propulsion Field Service Engineer Job ID: 3031/3 Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne /Remote Rate/Salary £45,000 (OTE £65,000) + Benefits Type: Permanent HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We have several permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas. We are looking for either a Senior Propulsion Field Engineer / Propulsion Field Service Engineer or Propulsion Service Technician to join an engineering company that specialise in supplying marine engineering solutions to global customers. In this role, you'll work with various cultures and within numerous countries, representing the company and supporting clients in high-pressure situations, such as dry-dock operations, where time is critical. Duties and responsibilities of the Propulsion Field Engineer / Propulsion Field Service Engineer / Propulsion Service Technician • Perform and lead maintenance, repairs, servicing and commissioning to and on vessel thrusters, stabilisers, steering gear, rudder systems, and cryogenic valves • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and interpret engineering drawings • Specialise in sealing systems for stern tubes, thrusters, and propulsion drives • Experience in overhauls, fault diagnosis and inspections of propulsion systems • Willingness to travel across the UK and overseas as required • Preparing clear and comprehensive reports, time sheets, and expense documentation for each job • Comprehensive factory training will be provided on servicing sealing systems and other marine products in their portfolio Qualifications and requirement for the Propulsion Field Engineer / Propulsion Field Service Engineer / Propulsion Service Technician • Field Service experience is essential alongside a strong understanding of fault diagnosis and propulsion system overhauls • Mechanical Diploma or Level 3 Engineering Qualification • UK Driving Licence and flexibility to travel at short notice • 5+ years' experience in Marine Industry, especially in thruster, stabiliser, steering gear and propulsion system servicing This vacancy is being advertised by HSB Technical who have been appointed to act as the recruitment consultancy for this role.
