Surveyor/ Survey Engineer - Hydrographic/Offshore/Geotechnical/Geophysical Job Description

  • Responsible to define Survey methodology in coordination with Subcontractors for :
  • Pipeline surveys: Touch down Monitoring, Pre-lay survey, As-laid, As-trench & Backfill surveys as well as Out of Straightness Surveys.
  • Structure installation and construction support.
  • Spool metrology - LBL or other methodologies.
  • Diving operations.
  • Manage of survey contractor to execute relevant survey activities
  • Interface with Client
  • Prepares and generates the Survey procedures in office and site.
  • Controls the construction subcontractor team in office and site.
  • Generate / review Survey documentation/costings to support tendering and project execution.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with the Project standards in terms of Quality, Cost & Time;
You are meant for this job if:
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, Industrial)
  • >3 years of experience in process or engineering disciplines
  • Someone with relevant Survey Party Chief experience / Senior Surveyor, Survey Tech or Data Processor with the right offshore experience in supporting subsea construction projects
  • Practical experience/understanding of preparation, coordination, and execution phase of projects in general;
  • Good command of English, both verbal and writing
  • Knowledge of Dimensional Control Survey practices.
  • Geophysical/Geotechnical Survey Experience (preferred)
  • Experience of onshore management of survey contractor.
  • Experience in continuous improvement (development of best practices etc.) of survey activities.
  • Knowledge of survey navigational & data processing software
  • Preferably knowledge of seabed mapping surveys – geophysical and geotechnical methods and data deliverables.
