Key Responsibilities :
- Process Design :
- Develop and design new process systems, ensuring all process parameters align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Design process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to define the process flow and control system layouts.
- Select appropriate materials, technologies, and equipment based on the process requirements.
- Process Optimization :
- Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve overall production quality.
- Safety and Compliance :
- Ensure designs meet safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA).
- Conduct hazard analysis (HAZOP) and risk assessments to ensure process safety and identify potential risks.
- Provide documentation for safety audits and regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to integrate process designs.
- Communicate design concepts and technical information to internal and external stakeholders, including non-technical staff.
- Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure smooth implementation and commissioning of designs.
- Troubleshooting and Technical Support :
- Support the operations team with troubleshooting issues during the commissioning phase and during ongoing production.
- Provide solutions to optimize system performance, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation including calculations, design specifications, process flow diagrams, and equipment datasheets.
- Produce regular reports on process performance, improvements, and project status updates.
