Dunnes Stores is embarking on a strategic transformation programme that will modernise our Business capabilities and Technology landscape. A key component of this is the growth of our cloud footprint and continued adoption of cloud technologies. The Cloud Architect should have a comprehensive understanding of the various services offered by cloud providers, such as compute instances, storage solutions, databases, networking, analytics, machine learning, and serverless computing. They should be proficient in Azure and one other cloud platforms (e.g. OCI, GCP), including understanding their respective offerings, pricing models, management tools, and best practices. He/She should be familiar with different cloud deployment models (public, private, hybrid) and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) to determine the most suitable architecture for the needs of Dunnes Stores. The Cloud Architect reports to the Head of Architecture and will be responsible for the development and implementation of a cloud strategy to realise our business objectives. This will include the design of cloud / hybrid architectures and the migration of legacy technologies to the Cloud. Key Accountabilities: Work with business and stakeholders across Dunnes Stores to understand business needs and translate them into solution architectures that leverage the appropriate cloud service models and capabilities. Develop high-level solutions which deliver these requirements and align with the architectural principles of Dunnes Stores. Present these solutions to the Technical Design Authority as appropriate. Oversee the project delivery lifecycle including collaboration with internal technology SMEs and the management of external partners. Work closely with engineering teams, technical SMEs, and external partners to develop low-level designs that can inform the procurement and/or implementation process. These designs should consider functional and non-functional requirements (availability, performance, and security). Build effective communication channels with business leaders and stakeholders. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices and advocate for their adoption Develop migration strategies for migrating applications, data, and infrastructure from on-premises environments to the cloud, considering factors like workload dependencies, data sensitivity, and business priorities. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a technology-related field, or equivalent work or education-related experience. Strong experience with MS Azure technologies (Azure Solutions Architect certification) would be an advantage). Architecture-related certificates (TOGAF, Cloud Certified Solutions Architect CCSA etc). Proficient in using DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and well versed in Agile methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technology challenges and develop innovative solutions. In-depth knowledge of modern software architectures, integration patterns, and emerging technologies. Proficient in integrating cloud services with existing on-premises systems and applications. A collaborative enterprise-wide thinker who is accustomed to designing and embedding change in large-scale digital services, putting customers and users at the heart of plans to deliver required outcomes. /*generated inline style */
