Ventia are seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Transmission Line Mechanic Trainee. WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME? ABOUT YOU As the successful candidate, you will need to be mechanically minded and have an interest in the Power industry; enjoy physical activities and prefer working outdoors rather than being sat in an office; and will need to be physically fit and strong and not be bothered by climbing or working at heights. A typical day will likely be spent out in the field and will also take you to remote areas in New Zealand that you otherwise might not have the opportunity to visit. You will need to be prepared to travel away from home for work; be practical with manual tasks and hand tools; and have a valid full Class 1 driver’s licence. A minimum of NCEA Level 1 is preferred but not essential. If you have a good eye for detail, are keen to learn and commit to a training programme, and enjoy working within a team environment, then this is the perfect role for you! Minimum Skills and Qualification
- Full Class 1 driver's licence
- Interest in the Electrical Industry
- Team Player
- Flexible to work away from home and in various weather conditions
- Not afraid of heights
- Enjoy working outdoors
- Have an aptitude for Mechanical things or mechanically minded
- Able to commit to a training program as well as attend in-class courses
