Kent is looking for a Project Engineer- Piping - Based on Shedgum for a Medium sized Brownfield EPC project for Saudi Aramco. The engineering duration will be 12-14 months and some of these personnel would be required to continue full-time/part-time till project completion through the Construction and Pre-commissioning phases.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist and contribute to the project to meet its safety targets and advise safety improvements.
  2. Assist the team leader, be a team player, collaborate, and add value to the assigned project.
  3. Coordinate/Communicate with other disciplines, Contractors, and Client.
  4. Assist and support project leads, managers, and directors to manage all aspects of projects from design to implementation and handover.
  5. Support technical reviews and analysis during vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
  6. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, Standards and practices.
  7. Review Contractor's deliverables such as requisitions, data sheets and Technical Specifications for rotating equipment, as required and ensure all Contractor's engineering and design work performed meets contractual obligations, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
  8. Ensure all Contractor's design work is safe and carried out safely.
  9. Ensure all Contractor's design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the Client or to agreed industry standards.
  10. If required, perform designing/engineering work/deliverables as part of the team.
  11. Coordinate with the project team and clients to develop/finalize design specifications to meet their project needs with the ability to interpret Client specifications.
  12. Quality Assurance- Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
  13. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and advise the Client, and ask for assistance when required.
  14. If required, assist, and help develop junior personnel within the team.
  15. Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in Mechanical Rotating Engineering.
  16. If required, provide support during fabrication, site construction, and commissioning activities.
  17. Prepare verbal or written reports as required, stating the current workload in the group and whether it will meet set targets. If not, give the reasons why not and list the steps taken, or which need to be taken, to get back on target.
  18. Liaise closely with the Project Engineers/Project Managers for whom the group is doing work. This will enable the latest developments, which may affect the schedule to be ascertained. Advise them of problem areas.
  19. Make sure that all the information needed by engineers to perform their work is available before they need it so that work progresses at a smooth and steady pace, on time, and on target.
  20. Ensure that work done in the discipline is accurate and as per project applicable standards.
  21. Provide assessments for the Engineering and Operations Managers, on the performance of the various.
  22. Perform checking functions for more junior engineers by signing QA/QC check sheets.
  23. Ensure that any necessary reference material is readily available to engineers whether it be a National or Client Standard, Procedure, or recognized Code of Practice. Also, ensure that the most used vendor literature is available.
  24. Allocate work packages to suitable engineers, monitor progress against the schedule, resolve queries and generally expedite the progress of the design.
  25. Liaise with the relevant Engineering and Operations Managers concerning resources and equipment requirements needed for the discipline to complete the work.
  26. Ensure that the discipline engineering work is performed to the correct Saudi Aramco and international standards.
  27. Ensure work performed within the discipline is executed within the allocated manhours.
  28. Computer literate- e-mail, spreadsheets, and proprietary design software.
  29. Confident in his engineering ability and experience to handle queries and problems as they arise.
  30. Able to grasp the important facts in a project and to create a schedule of work for the discipline engineers which gets the work done on schedule and within the man-hours.
  31. Aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the group discipline engineers, allocate work, accordingly, provide tuition to address the weaknesses, and generally promote greater expertise within the group.
  32. Able to act as a Lead Engineer on large-size projects.
  33. Able to assess value engineering and constructability issues.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  1. Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. 8 to 10 Years in detailed Engineering Design of EPC Projects in Oil & Gas or petrochemical Sectors (Min. 5+ Aramco).
  3. Understanding of Local and International Codes & Standards.
  4. Full-stack development skills with proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies.
  5. Proficient with company standard office software and discipline-specific technical software.
  6. Able to effectively communicate technical issues to peers (written and verbal).
  7. Proficient at working with engineers to produce high-quality, accurate, complete engineering delivery.
  8. Thorough knowledge of Aramco standards.
  9. PC Skills include use of the various engineering & Modelling software used in Oil & Gas industry.
  10. QA/QC Company Requirements.
  11. Training Analysis.

Communication:

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  2. Ability to articulate technical challenges and progress effectively.
  3. Proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices.
